About Me

ABOUT ME

Hello, my name is Charlene, owner and head stylist of L.A.C Groomers. In 2019 I decided to chase my dream of working with dogs and decided to open a dog grooming salon. Since then I have trained with an Award winning Academy who gained the title of UK Grooming school of the year.
I gained my City and Guilds qualification Level 2 and trained at Level 3 and also completed A Dog First Aid Emergency Canine Care Course.
In order to expand and widen my knowledge I continue to develop my skills by attending training seminars and completing various courses in canine behaviour and First Aid among others..

I've had a passion and commitment for the care and welfare of animals my entire life. After volunteering at a stables for some time working and caring for horses I decided to pursue a career in the police with the aim of  becoming a dog handler. I knew from a young age that I wanted to be in the police and work with dogs and so I completed my training and became a Police SC with the aim of working my way up, however, it was not to be.
I soon realised that a career in the police was not for me and so I left, not quite sure what I wanted to do.
I have had dogs all my life and I love spending time with and caring for them. It was only when I was sat grooming my own dog that I realised how great it would be if I could do this for a living! The more I researched, the more I was convinced this is what I should be doing, it ticked all the right boxes. Being married to a soldier, it was never easy to settle down, meet people or find a job to work around military life. Since moving to Tidworth we have felt completely at home and find the people who live here very friendly, caring and a tight community.  We knew this is where we would stay and settle for good and so decided to start our new journey here and have not looked back since
